Morgan Advertising and the Milan Design Show

This week saw some changes being made to the Morgan Motor Company website with the inclusion of new work shot by Ambient Life photographer Tim Wallace for our client Morgan. The material firstly shot for the Geneva Motor Show this year has gone on to be used in numerous marketing campaigns from European magazine advertising to a show in Milan, The Milan Design Week.

Milan design week is a showcase of the worlds most recent and ground breaking design and saw Morgan alongside other infamous automotive marques.

Not solely a car event, designers and companies specialising in furniture, interiors, modern art, fashion, technology, automotive design etc. all exhibit in showrooms in both districts around Milan centre and the centre itself. The event was set off by a huge print of an photograph taken by Photographer Tim Wallace as part of a recent shoot with our client Morgan and can be seen hanging proudly in some of the images below from the event.
With the enthusiastic support of Luigi Borghi, Morgan Design transformed the Borghi Automobili showroom promoting the brand to the worlds press and customers.

Much of the work that Tim has shot with Morgan this year can be seen on the new look company website for Morgan at http://www.morgan-motor.co.uk/

Jason Barker in the November issue of EVO ” …if it’s a traditional Morgan you’ve set your heart on and you were wavering since V8 production ended, waver no longer because the V6 model is a worthy successor and a character in it’s own right.”

Autocar “Think Morgan and you think open roads, country lanes and picnics in fields. In that environment the Roadster makes sense. For one it’s very quick. Then there’s the sound. Get near the 6700 rpm cut-out and 24 valve V6 emits a glorious howl .”

Andrew Frankel in the Sunday Times “In the Roadster….by driving smoothly, thinking ahead and understanding the idiosyncrasies of your car, you can go faster, stay safer and at the journey’s end experience a sense of pride you’ll not find in a modern car that does it all for you….like any Morgan it is built entirely by hand in a factory that first started producing Morgans in 1910. Go there and it is like a time warp- a world of chisels, planes and lathes where cars are lovingly created by the hands of craftsmen, not expertly assembled by the mechanical arms of robots…..it made me feel good.It indulged and involved me in a way that few modern cars could, and while the fun it provided was slightly perverse and mildly masochistic, fun it undoubtedly was.”

Charles Morgan – “Morgan don’t want to be too big for our boots. We will always be a small player, one of the car world’s Davids but with the ability to make genuinely interesting coach-built cars”.

New Bugatti 16 C Galibier Launched

Bugatti’s first modern four-door sedan was revealed this week at the Geneva Motor Show, just a few months after it was first teased to the press. To say the new Bugatti 16 C Galibier Edition is breathtaking would be an understatement, as this return to original form is a stunning achievement for the French automaker. The Bugatti 16 C Galibier Edition takes the brand’s emphasis away from the now trademark sectional front-end design for a more refined appeal. Earlier renderings showed the 16 C with its typical raised grill and dropped headlights in blue and silver, but the design here seems to have unified these sections in an all black paint job.

Bugatti was originally known for luxury, and while this emphasis never really passed, the focus of the mark seemed to be on performance. The Bugatti 16 C Galibier Edition is a return to form that we strongly support. That Bugatti grille and back-end logo look so comfortable on this design, as the emphasis on luxury seems to have returned to Bugatti’s primary focus– at least in this vehicle. Now if only we could find a way to scratch together the $1.6 million asking price…

80th Geneva Motorshow gets inspired…

This week saw the start of the prestigious and World renowned Geneva Motor Show. The show is the 80th International Motor Show from Geneva and is an international exhibition of the finest new automobiles. A vast array of car brands and new models are on show each year, many including concept cars and prototypes. This year we were very pleased to support Morgan in their launch of the new Sports Roadster and 4/4 Sports.

Ambient Life photographer Tim Wallace was approached by The Morgan Motor Company to shoot several of their models for both new brochure designs with the Aero 8, the 4/4 Sport and most exclusively the new Roadster Sport to provide high quality photography for its launch at the Geneva Show for its official launch.

Tim initially spent 3 days with Morgan to produce the work for the first shoot with Geneva firmly in mind. The shoot was split over work on site at the Morgan factory in Malvern as well as on locations in the South of England that even involved a very frosty morning in a cattle auction shed…

Over the coming months as work continues we will be sure to keep you up to date as this project develops and progresses with England’s only remaining privately owned car manufacturer as they continue to grow and go from strength to strength.

The International Geneva Motor Show (French: Salon International de l’Auto) is an annual auto show held in March in the Swiss city of Geneva. The show is hosted at the Geneva Palexpo, a convention centre located next to the Geneva Cointrin International Airport. The Salon is organised by the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles, and is considered an important major international auto show.

First held in 1905, the Salon has hosted almost all major internal combustion engined models in the history of the automobile, along with benzene- and steam-powered cars from the beginning of the century. Exotic supercars often steal the spotlight during their debuts at the show. Prototypes, new equipment, technical breakthroughs, international partnerships, as well as political and social debates, have been announced at the exhibition. The show is regarded as a level playing field for the world’s automakers, aided by the fact Switzerland lacks an auto industry of its own.
